In this course, we were tasked with exploring and dissecting a number of genres and rhetorical situations. In doing so, collectively we all became more aware of how a piece of text is presented to the readers via the author’s perspective. We were asked to see what story are they trying to tell or what is the purpose of this text. By repeating this over and over and being opened to a ton of different texts this process became easier and more fluid. This particular skill was used extensively when analyzing quotes and trying to figure out what an author meant when he said a specific quote.
At the same time, we were encouraged to find what works best for us as writers. None of us are the same so we had the goal to figure out what works best for us in terms of how we write, when we write, why we write, and more. In this process, we were able to break down our own writing and consistently be able to revise and review our work to perfection. Throughout this assignment and many others, we were encouraged to work under the conditions that we work best in. For myself, I work best late at night when a writing assignment of any magnitude is the last thing on my to-do list. It doesn’t matter how long the assignment is, it just needs to be the last thing that I do before bed.
The opportunity to have a second set of eyes take a look at your work before it is submitted is very crucial if you want your work to be the best. By having a second set of eyes there is no bias, they’ll find your mistakes before you can and in doing so, this process will help your work be the best that it can be. Throughout this semester I have had several opportunities to have a peer of mine take a look at my work. When I was told what I did well and what needs to be improved I wrote down quick little bullet points to help me remember what I need to do in order to fix my writing. I was fortunate to have people really dissect my writing and question what I meant and how to make my writing more precise so that it is much easier to read.

As we start at the letter of introduction, I ask that viewers transition from this page to the composition of two genres, following that page viewers will be able to see the two papers for this class, I ask that viewers first take a look at the inquiry-based essay and then transition to the source-based essay. After the essays, I think it would be best to look at the Solar paper outline which is an outline for the Inquiry-based essay. Finally, I have also added the Mid-Term Reflection and also the Peer Review Suggestion.
